Handmade Christmas Candies Following Traditional Methods

At Sømods Bolcher, our Christmas candy canes are made with respect for traditional candy craftsmanship. Production begins with pearl sugar, which is boiled at almost 180 degrees until it becomes a warm and pliable candy mixture. The mixture is then divided. A smaller portion is coloured red, while the rest is pulled on a hook. This pulling process introduces air into the candy mixture, making it light and beautifully matt on the surface. The coloured stripes are placed on the white mixture before the candy maker pulls the mixture into long strands. Finally, each individual Christmas candy cane is twisted and shaped by hand. It is a piece of genuine candy craftsmanship, where every cane gets its own personal touch. We remain true to the old methods because we believe that good craftsmanship and quality ingredients help create candies worth looking forward to.
