Looking for a free activity in Copenhagen during the summer holidays? At Sømods Bolcher, we invite children, families and anyone with a sweet tooth to enjoy a fun experience where you can make your own lollipop – completely free of charge.
Throughout the school summer holidays, we open the doors to our historic candy workshop in the heart of Copenhagen. Here, you’ll get a unique insight into one of Denmark’s oldest crafts and even have the opportunity to try your hand at traditional candy making.
Production
See How Handmade Candies Are Made
Your visit begins with a demonstration in our production area, where you’ll see how our handmade candies are crafted using the original methods that Sømods Bolcher has followed since 1891.
We’ll explain the candy-making process, share our traditional craftsmanship, and show you how the hot candy mass is transformed into the candies that generations of Copenhageners and visitors have enjoyed for more than 130 years.
Make your own lollipop
Once the candy mass is ready, it’s your turn.
You’ll be given a stick and a warm piece of candy mass while our candy makers guide you through the process. Then you can shape your very own lollipop and, of course, take it home with you – or enjoy it straight away.
It’s a fun and creative experience that both children and adults love.

Places are limited for each session. We therefore recommend arriving 10–15 minutes before the session starts to secure your place.
